Child To Champion arrives in Australia for the first time!
After 4 years of successful events in the UK, Child To Champion has grown into the a must attend event for strength and conditioning coaches, sports coaches and PE teachers responsible for developing youth athletes into high level performers.
The previous events we have brought together passionate coaches with leading S&C practitioners and researchers. Providing coaches with the opportunity to learn from leaders in the field and enhance your pathways and programmes for your athletes.
Whatever setting you work in, whether it’s a professional sports team, local sports club, school or Centre of Excellence you will not want to miss this opportunity to learn, share and connect with leaders in the field and join a community of coaches passionate about the process of helping developing athletes transitioning to elite performers.

What Can You Expect?
Our aim through the conference is to help coaches enhance their coaching practise and LTAD pathway delivery to increase the chances of a successful career for their athletes.
Child To Champion 2020 will offer you the chance to learn from leaders in the field of Long Term Athletic Development, sharing ideas and best practises whilst make lasting connections with liked minded professionals.
You will have the opportunity to participate in a range of theory, hands-on practical sessions and roundtable discussions across a range of topics. Led by coaches from a variety of different environments including Elite sport, Professional Academies, Schools and Centres of Excellence.
Learn from experienced coaches that have been in the trenches of athlete development and walk away at the end of the weekend with new knowledge and methods, as well as the critical part – how to apply it!

Mike is a true leader in the field of S&C, bringing the unique qualities of being a nationally recognized researcher, coach, and educator. His depth of knowledge and experience in the field of athletic development is evidenced by his stays at all three U.S. Olympic Training Centres as an athlete, sport scientist and coach.
ACADEMY OF SPORT SPEED AUSTRALIA
Ranell has been a Strength and Speed Coach & Coach Educator for over 20 years is at the forefront of youth development in Australia and a true expert is speed development. In 2019, Ranell was awarded the ‘ASCA Performance Development Coach of the Year’ for her work at the Academy of Sport Speed Australia.
ASPIRE ACADEMY (DOHA, QATAR)
James is an S&C Coach and Sport Science Lead for the Track & Field Development and Sprints/Hurdles programmes at Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar. In 2017, James was awarded the ‘UKSCA S&C Coach of the Year for Youth Sport’ for his work developing and implementing a school-based LTAD Pathway.
DR. CRAIG HARRISON
ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
An expert in youth athlete development, Craig specialises in the physical and mental sides of sport. He is a coach and researcher with a unique ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way that inspires action. Craig teaches youth athletes how to unlock personal performance & fulfil their sporting potential.
SENIOR ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE SPECIALIST
Alex is currently the Senior Athletic Performance Specialist at the GWS Giants AFL team with experience across a range of sports at various National Institutes of Sport in the EIS and SAIS. Prior to moving to the Giants Alex spent 4 years working at Aspire Academy developing their Senior Sprinters.
DIRECTOR OF COACHING & PERFORMANCE
Lachlan has nearly 15 years experience working with developmental and elite athletes. Prior to focusing on his own private company, Athletes Authory, he has held positions as Head of Athletic Performance at the Paramatta Eels (NRL) and Senior Athletic Performance Specialist GWS Giants (AFL).
